Community Service Opportunities
· Saturday’s Servants: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on three to four Saturdays throughout the year where members make bag lunches and distribute them in an effort to help the soup kitchen provide meals during the weekend.
· Food Drivesbi-annually for Anderson Interfaith Ministries.
· Blood Assurance Program members are encouraged to give blood to the AnMed Blood Center to insure the blood needs of the congregation.
· Trick-or-Treat So Others May Eata youth led food drive that takes place in October.
· Morningside Community Project: an organization of churches that renovate homes in the Morningside community
· Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child: Shoeboxes are filled with gifts for children to be distributed worldwide. This occurs October – November.
· Share the Warmth Blanket and/or Coat Drive: Coats or blankets are gathered and donated to Anderson Interfaith Ministries during the winter.
· Trey's House: Trey's House was given to Young Memorial Church by the Merritt family as a memorial to their son Trey. Trey's house consists of a three-bedroom apartment used as an emergency shelter and houses the offices of The Anderson Sunshine House. The Anderson Sunshine House operates several emergency shelters in the Anderson community.
· Other Community Service offerings as identified throughout the year.
